Teachers' Administration Page
Following various meetings with teachers and discussing how computers can support administration one obvious use arose. A grades spreadsheet which can be used to automatically calculate student grade.
Below is the template which has been used in training sessions and can be amended to accomodate individual school requirements. OpenOffice has been used to create these templates and the OpenOffice application has also been provided. However if you do not want to use Open Office there is a Microsoft Office Excel version available. The grades spreadsheet manual provides a self learning tool on how to use and create such a spreadsheet.
Why use OpenSource? Opensource is user friendly community based software that is FREE to all. There are no yearly subscriptions or fees and is very similar to the more common Microsoft packages. Using Opensource within a school is sustainable and practical. Using Opensource operating systems and applications removes virus threats to your computers and networks aswell as providing a legal alternative to copied software.
